Foodservice ( formerly Hospitality) will feature the largest collection of hospitality-related exhibitors in the country, plus a gourmet foodcourt, and demonstration areas where visitors can sample the latest foods and flavours, appliances, equipment, furniture, and apparel.

Since 2005, Fish & Game NZ has been running the Gamebird Food Festival, where hunters take their wild gamebird harvest to festival restaurants to have these birds transformed into innovative, restaurant dishes. Several guest chefs from the 2009 Gamebird Food Festival will be demonstrating their skills and iconic dishes at HospitalityNZ using wild gamebirds. Our chef’s include

  • Brenton Low, A’Deco, Whangarei (finalist 2009 Cuisine Restaurant of the Year Award)
  • Mat Mclean, palate, Hamilton (finalist 2009 Cuisine Restaurant of the Year Award)
  • Scott Kennedy, Nero Restaurant & Bar, Palmerston North (Most successful regional restaurant, 2009 Gamebird Food Festival)
  • Tony Smith, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Christchurch (“Star” of the recent Campbell Live gamebird story and hunter / chef)
  • Philip Nordt, Huntley House, Christchurch (Swiss trained gamebird chef)
  •  Anthony Smith,  Renowned Chef and three-time Beef & Lamb Ambassador Anthony Smith will present the benefits and the delights of cooking this wonderful new product. An ex Restauranteur himself, Tony’s CV also includes Executive Chef at Wellingtons Bouquet Garni and the prestigious Boomrock Lodge.
  • Jimmy Gerard, Director of the Harbourside Restaurant, Auckland (Part-time chef & expert fish buyer).  Joining Jimmy will be Tom Fox an expert fly fisherman and trout cook.  Tom will be sharing his recipes and expertise in filleting the trout.
